Oslon Square Batwing’s new batwing optics provide a special pattern of light radiation that looks like a pair of wings. Its beam angle is 140° wide, and the light is distributed in a rectangular shape, which makes the light distribution more uniform, so as to make better use of the greenhouse space; its wider angle range also makes the distance between lamps farther, thus reducing the number of lighting equipment.
Janick Ihringer, Vice President and General Manager Lighting at ams Osram, said: “The Oslon Square Batwing is the world’s first batwing optical LED family for horticultural lighting applications. Will continue to work on more innovations to lead the horticultural LED market.”
The awards were selected by a Panel of senior judges from the LED and lighting design and manufacturing fields.
Wanda Lau, Editorial Director of LEDs Magazine, said: “On behalf of the LEDs Magazine jury, I would like to congratulate ams Osram on this award. This competition is very competitive, and the winners are the projects that have advanced LEDs and solid-state in a variety of applications over the past year. The most innovative products in lighting technology, LEDs Magazine congratulates them.”
The prestigious International Lighting Show Innovation Award is awarded to the industry’s top breakthrough products launched between October 2021 and June 2022. The award jury consists of independent lighting professionals selected from the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD). Judging criteria include product clarity, versatility, adaptability, sustainability, ease of use, design efficiency, and improved human well-being.
