Beijing, China, October 18, 2021 – Keysight Technologies (NYSE: KEYS) announced that the company’s test cases have been the first to pass the PTCRB verification, which chip manufacturers can use to verify the performance of their 5G mmWave designs. No Accurately manages the reception of two sync signals. Keysight Technologies provides advanced design and verification solutions designed to accelerate innovation and create a secure, connected world.
At the heart of this test case is Radio Resource Management (RRM) in two Angle of Arrival (2AoA) test scenarios, using Keysight’s S8705A RF/RRM DVT and conformance tool suite and a 5G mmWave modem from a leading chip supplier reached this milestone.
“We are very pleased to announce that Keysight is the first to deliver 3GPP conformance testing capabilities for real-world air testing using its advanced simulation platform,” said Muthu Kumaran, general manager of Keysight’s Device Validation Solutions Group.
The PTCRB consists of North American mobile operators and operates a certification program powered by Keysight’s suite of 4G and 5G network emulation solutions. By using PTCRB-approved test cases early to validate 5G mmWave designs in two angle-of-arrival (2AoA) test scenarios, manufacturers can confidently develop devices that can accurately manage signal reception at different angles to optimize network performance and improve terminal performance user experience.
Over the past year, Keysight has achieved a number of achievements in the field of PTCRB and GCF certification, thereby accelerating the development of 5G mmWave devices around the world. Keysight’s pioneering achievements include:
In October 2020, the conformance test cases used to certify 5G mmWave radio frequency (RF) transceivers (TRX) and protocol performance passed GCF verification, extending 5G New Radio (NR) device certification to any 3GPP frequency band.
In January 2021, the 5G mmWave test case supporting radio frequency (RF) demodulation, which is a key feature of 5G NR to optimize overall device performance, was verified by GCF.
In April 2021, 5G mmWave RRM test cases for 1AoA scenarios passed GCF validation, allowing users to validate new designs in a real-world simulation environment.
In July 2021, the 5G mmWave RF transceiver test case used to certify 5G NR devices in standalone (SA) mode passed GCF validation, accelerating deployment of advanced 5G use cases.
Keysight continues to support the extensive 5G NR RF, RRM and protocol conformance test cases required by the PTCRB. By applying validated test cases early, equipment manufacturers can continuously upgrade to the latest specifications and meet market demands in a cost-effective manner in a timely manner.
